SYCHEM has successfully completed the delivery of a 30,000 m³/day seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant for the Jorf Lasfar OCP project in Morocco.
The plant consists of two desalination trains, each with a capacity of 15,000 m³/day, and forms part of the expansion of the Jorf Lasfar desalination facility within OCP’s industrial complex in Morocco.
A key feature of the project is its fully prefabricated and modular design. The equipment was manufactured, assembled, and tested at SYCHEM’s industrial facilities in Heraklion, Crete, before being shipped to Morocco. This approach significantly reduces on-site construction time, ensures higher quality control, and enables faster reassembly and commissioning.
The project demonstrates SYCHEM’s ability to deliver large-scale, technically demanding desalination systems within tight timelines. From order confirmation to full operation, the project was completed in less than 12 months, a particularly important achievement given the international logistics and equipment supply challenges faced during 2022.
The Morocco project is another important milestone in SYCHEM’s export activity and reflects the company’s engineering know-how, manufacturing capacity, and commitment to reliable, fast-track water infrastructure solutions.
