Heavy Metal Removal

WATER SOLUTIONS

TARGETED REMOVAL
FOR COMPLIANT
DISCHARGE.

Heavy metal removal is an essential part of advanced water and wastewater treatment, especially in applications where complex pollutants require targeted and reliable treatment.

SYCHEM designs and integrates specialized systems that address demanding water streams, including landfill leachate, industrial wastewater, and other applications where heavy metals, high organic load, ammonium ions, and non-biodegradable compounds may be present.

Using technologies such as reverse osmosis, chemical treatment, and integrated pre-treatment or post-treatment stages, SYCHEM develops solutions that help achieve the required water quality for reuse, discharge, or further processing. Its approach combines technical assessment, laboratory support, and system design expertise to ensure effective treatment, operational reliability, and compliance with each project’s specific requirements.

PERFORMANCE
AT A GLANCE.

SYCHEM seawater desalination systems are designed to treat feed water with TDS levels from 6,000 to 43,000 mg/L, producing potable water with a maximum TDS concentration of 500 mg/L.

Through advanced engineering and innovative design, SYCHEM has developed third-generation seawater reverse osmosis systems under the SYRO SW series. By integrating high-efficiency pressure exchanger technology, these units significantly reduce energy consumption and production costs, achieving energy requirements of up to 3.0 kWh/m³ of produced water.

All SYRO SW Units Include:

  • Touch screen interface for monitoring, operation, and adjustment of critical parameters.
  • 316L stainless steel frame with corrosion protection coating and adjustable base.
  • High-pressure piping made from seawater-grade stainless steel, including 904L, duplex, or super duplex.
  • Easy high-pressure network disassembly without special tools for simplified maintenance.
  • High-performance membranes from DOW, FilmTec or Hydranautics USA.
  • Membrane pressure vessels designed for easy maintenance and replacement.
  • Integrated chemical cleaning system with PLC-based automated control.
  • PLC electrical control panel with digital touch screen and graphic supervision environment.
  • Digital measuring instruments fully connected to the PLC and displayed on the touch screen.
  • Full automation, including critical alarms, tank level switch connection, auxiliary pump control, and post-treatment integration.
  • Operation & Maintenance Manual with equipment coding and permanent marking.

This design ensures efficient operation, reliable performance, simplified maintenance, and consistently high-quality potable water production under demanding seawater conditions.
