Cathodic Protection Engineer
Job brief
SYCHEM Group is looking for an Electrical Engineer, Chemical Engineer, or Naval Architect / Marine Engineer to join its facilities in Agia Paraskevi, Attica, as a Cathodic Protection Engineer.
The successful candidate will work as part of project teams on the development of studies, specifications, drawings, and supervision activities for new projects, modifications, and upgrades involving fuel or water transmission pipelines, ports, floating platforms, refineries, and fuel storage tanks.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the preliminary design of projects.
- Evaluate and compare alternative technical solutions and equipment.
- Develop studies, drawings, criteria, specifications, calculations, assessments, design documents, performance evaluations, integrated system analyses, cost estimates, and budgets related to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of cathodic protection systems.
- Apply technical standards and procedures according to the requirements of each project.
- Follow the quality control and assurance procedures for all assigned projects.
- Supervise the construction and installation of cathodic protection systems.
- Represent the company in project team meetings.
- Monitor system operation and perform measurements.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from a University or Technological Educational Institute.
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent computer skills, with emphasis on Office 365.
- Knowledge of corrosion engineering principles, problem-solving approaches, and relevant engineering theory.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, principles, and practices.
- Ability to work with complex spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software, as well as quickly learn new applications.
- Ability to analyze and interpret business journals, professional publications, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Ability to perform numerical calculations and apply basic statistical, algebraic, and geometrical concepts.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills.
- Valid driving license.
